2012年5月14日上午，美国密苏里大学堪萨斯分校Lein Harn教授访问重点实验室并在成功楼603做了题为“Research on Applied Cryptography”的报告。Harn教授结合自己近30年的科研经历和他近两年的科研成果，为我院师生就密码学在网络安全中的应用做了深入的阐述。报告过程各位听众与Harn教授进行了多次的交流，讨论热烈。

报告摘要:

     In this talk, I will introduce three papers which I have written and been  published in recent years, that are, (a) Fully Deniable Message Authentication  Protocols Preserving Confidentiality, (b) Contract Signature in e-Commerce, and  (c) Generalized Digital Certificate for User Authentication and Key  Establishment for Secure Communications. My talk will be focused on the  motivation, application and impact on the applied cryptographic research.

      Dr. Lein Harn received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Taiwan University in 1977. In 1980, he received his MS in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York-Stony Brook and in 1984 he received his doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He joined as an Assistant Professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984 and in 1986, he moved to Computer Science and Telecommunication Program (CSTP) of University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). While at UMKC he went on development leave to work in Racal Data Group in Florida for a year. His research interests are cryptography, network security and wireless communication security. He has published number of papers on digital signature design and applications, wireless and network security. He has written two books on Security. At present he is investigating new ways of using digital signature in various applications.      

            Lein Harn，美国密苏里大学堪萨斯机电工程系教授。 Lein Harn教授于1977年获得国立台湾大学电子工程理学学士学位，1980年获得纽约州立大学工电子工程硕士学位，并在1984年获得明尼苏达大学电子工程博士学位。同年，Lein Harn教授成为密苏里哥伦比亚分校电子与计算工程系副教员。1986年，Lein Harn 教授移至密苏里大学堪萨克斯分校(UMKC)的计算机科学与通信项目(CSTP)，并且离开UMCK一年，在佛罗里达的Racal Data Group继续进行研究工作。Lein Harn教授的研究领域包括加密技术、网络安全与无线通信安全等。迄今为止，他已在数字签名的设计及应用、无线网络安全等方面发表了众多学术论文，撰写两本安全方面书籍。曾讲授过《数据安全与密码学》、《通信与网络安全》、《计算机系统入门》、《编码理论》等数10门课程。目前，他正在研究数字签名和秘密共享在通信应用中的新方法。个人网页 http://h.web.umkc.edu/harnl/ 。
