报告摘要:The coding goal of wiretap channel is two-fold: reliability for legitimate receiver and secrecy against eavesdropper. In the case of Gaussian wiretap channel, one way to design good codes is to use lattices. Since designing good lattices that can effectively remove the Gaussian noise in legitimate receiver's channel is comparatively well studied, designing good lattices that uses the Gaussian noise in the eavesdropper's channel to hide information is the main concern. This latter topic becomes related to the lattice-based cryptography, a very active topic in cryptography.  Both topics have the mutual ingredients: Lattice, Gaussian noise, Secrecy goal. In this talk, I will begin with a recent result on lattice coding for Gaussian wiretap channel and explain its connection with lattice crypto.

报告人简介:Fuchun Lin received the Ph.D from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2014, he is currently a post doctoral fellow at University of Calgary, Canada. His research interest includes coding and cryptography and his main focus is on information-theoretic security. His PhD thesis is on lattice coding for Gaussian wiretap channel. After PhD he worked on general wiretap channel coding and adversarial wiretap channel coding. Other than coding for leakage resiliency, he also worked on coding for tamper resiliency, tamper detection codes and non-malleable codes.
