This talk starts with a philosophical discussion on cyber offense and cyber defense. The focus of the talk is then shifted to cyber deception. We examine the deep fake technology as a sample cyber deception application in offense and discuss methods to counter such an offense. We look at several other defense methods based on cyber deception. We also look at cyber dece-ption defense through the lens of moving target defense. We examine several challenges in cyber deception research. Finally, we provide some personal perspectives on future research directions in this field.
